It really was a wild ride but the Hughson Huskies are finally eliminated from the playoffs and the undefeated season has come to an end.
After over a dozen wins in front of the Husky faithful it’s finally time to hang up the pads one final time. These seniors have really changed the program along with the excellent coaching, from blowouts to one point scares the Huskies always found a way to get the job done until the unfortunate fall to Saint Vincent De Paul, the private school from Petaluma.
Over the past three seasons these boys finished a combined thirty six wins to only seven losses along with a section title three-peat and a state title. It’s gonna be hard to see them go but the future is bright for the football program. You might be thinking without the seniors and four star quarterback UCLA commit Robert McDaniel that Hughson High Football is done for but you are highly mistaken. Next year, the Huskies are going to be stronger than ever with the upcoming seniors who have a taste of what it feels like to lose in a big game, they will give it everything they’ve got to never feel that way again and make sure that the only way their season will come to an end is a State Championship in LA.
With the quarterback position now open there are a lot of new talented prospects transferring in for the 2025 year that could make or break the season. This is what Nic Wiggs,Huskies defensive lineman, had to say about this seasons end and the beginning of the next one: “Overall we had a great season, I know that we lost in the NorCal but at the end of the day we had a great season winning TVL and another Section Championship. Coming into the season we were doubted saying that we wouldn’t win TVL and that we lost all of our seniors the following year but we came out with a motto saying “State or Bust” but that sadly wasn’t achieved. We came so far and I can’t say that we had a bad year, but going into next year I feel like we will have another great season even though we are losing a lot of key seniors but these juniors are ready to take on the responsibility and win another section championship for the Hughson Huskies.”
