Congratulations to Ivan Flores for being HHS’s male athlete of the week. At this week’s past game against Modesto Christian Ivan was nominated Defensive player of the game which was well deserved. Ivan is known as a great teammate and for his positive attitude on the field. Ivan always tries his best to motivate him and his teammates not only on the field but off as well. Ivan had 2 solo tackles and 4 overall tackles. Garret Ecker says, He always tries pushing people in practice, he always is lifting people up with a positive attitude.” Greg Ecker says, “he’s chill!” This helps to show what a positive teammate Ivan is. We’ve heard nothing but positive things about who she is as a teammate, student, and overall athlete. Congratulations Ivan! Hughson High can’t wait to see where your senior year takes you!

Congratulations to Emily Yarbrough for being HHS’s female athlete of the week. Emily has been known for being a great team player, super encouraging, and hardworking. Emily is a junior on our Varsity teams but she has been on Varsity since Freshman year. Emily is one of the best hitters got! Emily is an amazing student with straight A’s and manages to be a great student and athlete at the same time. Coach Kaci Brazil says, “Emily is leading the team in kills per game.  She had 16 kills against Hilmar and has been working hard to get her team in a good position for playoffs.” Emily is such a kind, positive human and we are so happy to have her a part of our team. Congratulations Emily, we can’t wait to see how the playoffs go!
