Brand new classrooms are being built for HHS! Several of our original classrooms are being relocated to the newly constructed building, and many teachers will be moving into those rooms for years to come. This marks a huge change for Hughson High School. Some of the teachers moving into the new building include Ryan Tury, Daniel Sexton, and others connected to that wing.
Mr. Sexton feels that this is a great change for his classroom. The new rooms will provide more space for both him and his students. He said, “It’s needed since I’ve been around Hughson for a while and it feels good to have extra space.” He also mentioned that he plans to take some of his favorite classroom décor with him. Overall, he believes it’s a positive change and something Hughson High School really needs.
In addition, Mr. Tury shared that he will be moving into his new classroom sometime between late December and early January. He is excited about the transition, noting that the new room is a big upgrade and has more space for his classes in general. Even though he thinks it’s a good decision, he added that it’s also nice to have a fresh start. However, when asked if this will be a permanent move, he said, “I don’t think so. I think I’ll be coming back to this room.”
We also interviewed a student to get their perspective on the change. The student said they like the idea of the new classrooms because they offer more space and an improved learning environment. Overall, they prefer the new classrooms and feel the change will benefit many students.
Overall, this update represents an exciting improvement for HHS, and many teachers and students are looking forward to the new classrooms!
