This week’s Junior Justice spotlight interviewees consist of Luciano Navarro, Jalei Nhothsiri and Elijah (Eli) Wilbanks. This is a new series that gives a chance to Juniors here at Hughson High to have a chance to talk more about themselves and letting new students or even just their fellow Junior classmates know just a little bit about what they do and what kind of person they are.

Luciano Navarro is a 16 year old junior in Hughson High School, Luciano’s Favorite Song is Night Has Opened My Eyes. His favorite movie is Frankenween and his favorite food is pizza. Luciano has gone to Hughson Schools all his life. Luciano plays baseball, and is the president of the club, and he’s in CSF. For his future career he wants to be an architect or something in business. Luciano sees himself being in an apartment building in 10 years. The advice Luciano would give to incoming students would be to wear what you want. His favorite class is AP Art History. Luciano feels that Keith Bullock has helped him out  the most in their high school years. His favorite memory of high school was the water rally and he got water dumped all over himself. His favorite grade throughout all his school years is Freshman year and meeting Bullock.

Jalei Nhothsiri is a 16 year old junior in Hughson High School. Her favorite song is Love by Keisha Cole. Her favorite food is tacos. Jalei doesn’t seem to know what her favorite movie is. Jalei moved to Hughson Schools during quarantine so she arrived in 2020. She does cheer, basketball, and track, and is in two clubs CSF and Key Club. For her future career she wants to be a Radiologist or just something in the medical field. She sees herself, in 10 years, either still in school or her career. The advice Jalei would give to incoming students would be to stay on top of your work and to do your homework on time. Her favorite class is Chemistry with Alberto Rodriguez. She feels that Rodriguez has helped her out  the most in their high school years by supporting her. Her favorite memory so far is her halftimes with cheer. Jalei’s favorite grade throughout all their school years is her sophomore year.

Elijah Wilbanks is a 16 year old junior in Hughson High School. His favorite song is Angels by MF Doom, his favorite movie is Spider-Man Across the Spider Verse, and his favorite food is spaghetti. Eli has been going to Hughson Schools his whole life. He plays Football and track. His family is a big football family and he wants to continue on this generational football legacy. For his future career he wants to stay around sports going into sports medicine being a Physical therapist. Eli sees himself still in college or being a physical therapist in 10 years from now. The advice he would give to incoming students would be to not slack off your first year. His favorite class is Nathan Govett’s sophomore English class. He feels that Karalee Ruelas has helped him out the most in his high school years with keeping him on track of his grades and getting him into leadership. His favorite memory is when his friend buzzed his hair in the middle of school campus and he got a free t-shirt. Eli’s favorite grade throughout all their school years is Eighth from all the friends he made.
