Varsity Tennis player Hayden Rytting is going into his sophomore season of tennis. He is involved in Boys Soccer, along with Drama and Choir. As well as being a great student, he is also very good with acting and performing when it comes to Drama. Rytting plans on continuing his tennis career throughout the rest of high school.
When asked what it was like being a student athlete, Rytting responded, “Being a student athlete can be rough a lot of the time, especially coming home late from stuff, but utilizing class time and the pack time has helped a lot. Especially for your 6th period class, because you miss that class most. But talking with teachers in advance helps.¨
His fellow tennis player, Aiden Ramos, stated, “He is one of the kindest, softest, fiercest people I’ve ever met. He is a naturally born athlete with athleticism I’ve never seen before. He is also an amazing actor, playing the largest roles while balancing school work, leading choreography, and playing tennis at elite levels. I am just so grateful to have a person like him to be by my side and push me to be a better human being.”
Hayden also remarked, “What helps me as an athlete is really just having the right mentality no matter what sport you’re playing, realizing it’s a sport you love changes how you perform. In many tennis matches, I’ve played halfway through the match when I’m down by a lot and I’m mentally low, but I remind myself that I chose to play this sport because I love it. Also, being ready to learn new things and wanting to get better. I go to the courts on Saturdays consistently and especially during the summer. Summers are the best time to train for your sport no matter the season.” We are excited to see what the next few years bring for this great athlete!
